About
Hello, I’m Alan Curry, Intinnua’s founding psychotherapist. Born and raised in the midlands of Ireland, I migrated with my wife and 2 children to South Australia in 2005, settling on the periphery of the picturesque Barossa Valley.
My journey to becoming a therapist has taken me through many walks of life, from the structure of military service to the creativity of broadcast media and the arts, and the richness of education. I’ve also had the privilege of working on the front lines of humanitarian support with the UN and international NGOs across Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
These diverse experiences have deepened my understanding of the many ways people experience emotional pain, trauma, marginalisation, and isolation, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going. I believe strongly in the concept of Intinnua as a focus for healing and change; a new mind, a new spirit, a new way of being. You can learn more about it in this blog post and on the Therapy page.
At the heart of my practice is the relationship I build with each client. I believe that trust, empathy, and genuine collaboration create the space where healing can begin, and where people feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I am qualified with a Master of Counselling & Psychotherapy (Clinical Practice) from the University of Adelaide, and a registered practitioner with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), No. 31490, and the Australian Counselling Association, No. 27633, assuring you of the highest ethical and professional standards in clinical practice.
